OVERVIEW
The Leadership Communication Certificate Series is a program focused on leaders achieving success through enhanced communication skills. The key to maintaining strong client relationships, motivating staff or effecting corporate change is often effective and efficient skills and abilities in writing, speaking, listening, and influencing others. The highly interactive and dynamic four-part seminar series focuses on practical and useful communication techniques in four powerful communication areas:
- Team Writing
- Dynamic Presentations
- Powerful Persuasion
- Leadership Communication Styles
This insightful series is delivered by executive coach and consultant, Dr. Steve Gladis, who is the author of thirteen books, serves as president and CEO of Steve Gladis Communications (SGC), and currently teaches communications courses at George Mason. COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
LCCS 0101 Team Writing (half-day session, 4 hrs)

Author, executive coach, and professor Steve Gladis, PhD will teach you how to get the results you want by
- Sharpening your own "survival writing" skills.
- Organizing a piece of writing at macro- and micro-levels.
- Working with a collaborative writing team.
- Giving and taking constructive, valuable feedback.
A complimentary copy of Dr. Gladis' books, WriteType: Personality Types and Writing Styles and Survival Writing for Business (HRD Press), will be given to each participant.

THE COACH-APPROACH TO LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP
|
LCCS 0107 The Coach-Approach to Leadership (half-day session, 4 hours)
May 11, 2010, 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Center for Innovative Technology, Herndon, VA
Leaders (managers) will learn how to become the “guide on the side,” not “the sage on the stage.” Rather than telling people what to do, effective coach-leaders help their direct reports define goals and discover their own best path to reach that goal. Asking (discovery), not telling is the central focus of such a coach-approach to leadership. This workshop will be hands-on, with each person practicing the roles of coach-leader, coached employee, and observer.
A complimentary copy of Dr. Gladis' book, The Trusted Leader (HRD Press), will be given to each participant.
