This program, consisting of four courses, utilizes The Institute of Internal Auditors CIA Learning System. In January, The IIA introduced the new 2009 International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) for the global internal auditing profession. These globally recognized standards detail the basic principles of quality internal auditing. The IIA’s CIA Learning System is the first Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preparation tool to be aligned with the new IPPF. Content and questions have been updated, providing students with the most relevant global training on the market.

This learning opportunity is designed with many options. Courses can be taken individually or completed as a series to earn a George Mason University Certificate of Completion. Course content reflects the general body of knowledge tested by The IIA CIA examination. Although The IIA recommends using The IIA CIA Learning System as a tool for study of the CIA body of knowledge, this course of study can in no way guarantee or ensure an individual's success on the IIA CIA certification exam.
