COURSE DESCRIPTION

GIS is an invaluable tool for government and private agencies responsible for managing emergency situations from a routine 911 call to manmade or natural disasters. This course covers everything from, establishing pre-plans for any event, incident mapping and analysis, establishing service areas and evacuation routes, EOC (Emergency Operations Center) activations and more. ArcGIS, Network Analyst extension, and other software applications are used to effectively prepare, manage and quickly recover from the next emergency event.
